Leve 2019 nga nagbag-o sa dula alang sa pagpadayon sa turismo, pagkinabuhi ug pag-ila sa kalikopan

On Sunday May 05, 2019, Tourism Intelligence International will host its exclusive tourism and lifestyle invitation-only event, Leve, at the formidable Villa Being in Arnos Vale Tobago. Under the theme of “FASHIONING OUR FUTURE”, Leve incorporates the key Caribbean Lifestyle elements of fine art, fashion, culinary delights, rum, rhythm, drama and performing art that will showcase the multi-faceted creativity of Trinidad and Tobago and the wider Caribbean region.

Dr. Auliana Poon, Head of the Leve Group of Companies and Managing Director of Tourism Intelligence International, creator of Leve the event, stressed that “my company is committed to making its business model and its operations more and more sustainable; adopting environmentally-friendly and sustainable development criteria in all areas of its business. She adds, “We intend to show the rest of the world, sustainability at its best; that sustainability can be sexy; sustainability can be elegant”.

Continuing, Dr. Poon announced that “at Leve 2019, we are bringing together creatives, fashion designers, culinary artists, and innovators striving to create better, more ethical and sustainable Caribbean lifestyles. We are focusing on introducing real actionable change, posing challenging questions such as “How do you champion sustainable living?” to our guests at Leve and indeed to the Caribbean region at large”.

Guests can look forward to a fabulous fashion show from a new generation of Trinidad and Tobago fashion designers who are transforming the industry and using the changing public perception towards environment sustainability to develop a new design ethos.

Under the creative artistry of Richard Young, the presenting designers of this stellar production include Caribbean fashion social conscious powerhouse Robert Young/The Cloth, Carnival and resort wear designers Christian Boucaud and Rhion Romany as well as rising star in resort and swim suit wear Dominic Hutch.

Fine art, including local artists Glenn Roopchand and Jason Nedd as well as regional visual artist and environmental activist Roberto Tjon-A-Meeuw (who is based in Curacao) and Dominica’s best known painter Earl Etienne, will also be on show. Tobago-born artist Tomley Roberts will be coordinating this artistic display. Chef Xenon Thomas will provide a unique experience fusing indigenous cuisines with international concepts and influences. An eclectic mix of entertainment will also be provided.

Over 300 persons – including prominent heads of corporations, representatives of the diplomatic corps, philanthropists, fashionistas, serious art lovers and high level government executives – are expected to attend this can’t-miss staple on Tobago signature event calendar that will positively impact Tobago’s tourism sector. Technological innovation will also be at the ready as the event will be streamed “live” on the Leve Facebook Page. An auction of local and regional paintings will also take place to benefit the Tourism Intelligence Academy whose work is focused on environment sustainability and people upliftment.

In its fourth year, the objectives of Leve 2019 are:-

 To pro-actively demonstrate social responsibility and provide a platform for personal and community actions that will ensure an environmentally safe and sustainable environment for future generations.

 To showcase talented “Trinbagonian” fashion designers, culinary practitioners, accessories producers and entertainers to an international audience.

 To promote the island of Tobago as the quintessential ecotourism vacation spot

The “green story” of Villa Being, the venue for Leve, starts from its architecture. It is built in complete harmony with the surrounding landscape and with Caribbean-infused architecture and aesthetics. Only local paintings and other artworks decorate the inner and outer part of the buildings.

The operational needs of Villa Being are both environmentally sustainable and with a very low impact on nature. Even the outdoor furniture is made from recycled milk bottles and all woodworking and other services are 100% local.

Over 10 acres, Villa Being is an organic estate where there are over 30 different species of palms, as well as more than 20 different species of fruit trees and a wide range of vegetables and herbs.

The Patron for Leve 2019 is Mr. Aad Biesebroek, Head of the European Union Delegation to Trinidad and Tobago
